Course Image Garden Group

Garden Group: Tuesday 9.30-11.30am 

Like to know more about gardening or wish to share your experience with others? Bring your garden gloves, to enjoy a morning of gardening, sharing of ideas and a well-deserved cuppa. Rest assured, if the weather turns bad, we can still gather in the comfort of our adjoining portable room. 

Come along to this fun new class where you will learn how to make decorative items from recycled materials such as plastic bottles. Make ‘recycled art’ flowers and pot plant holders. Bring empty clean plastic bottles, all other materials provided.

Course Image Creative Art Class

Experiment with different art techniques and mediums including acrylic paint, watercolour paint, print making, charcoal and pastel, mixed media art and fabric art. Produce an interesting new piece of art each week and learn some new art skills. Suitable for all levels. All materials provided.

Boomerang Bags is a community initiative where volunteers make reusable bags from recycled fabric and provide them to the community as a sustainable alternative to plastic bags. Help make bags at the fortnightly sew-ing bees. Tasks include cutting materials, ironing, screen printing and sewing. All ages welcome and no experience required. Free event. No bookings need-ed.

Join us for this 2 part series to learn how to make photobooks out of your digital pictures. In the first session we’ll introduce you to a number of ser-vices available online or on your computer which you can use to design and order your own photobooks. Part 2 will be your chance to work on your first book with help and support from library staff. In partnership with Endeavour Hills Library—sessions to be held at the library.

Course Image Photography for Beginners

This course covers topics such as getting to know your camera; understanding the main controls on your camera (DSLR) and their functions; changing the settings and shooting in different modes; and basic photography terms such as aperture, shutter and ISO setting. Learn techniques and tips with lighting, contrast, composition and using different settings and filters to take great photos. What to bring: Notepad and pen, fully charged camera, and instruction manual.

Course Image $250 Power Saving Bonus

We can help eligible community members apply for the State Government’s $250 Power Saving Bonus. This one-off $250 payment is designed to help ease the cost of living for eligible Victorian households during the pandemic. 

Applications for the Power Saving Bonus are made online. If you do not have access to, or are uncomfortable using technology, we can help you complete the application. To be eligible, you must : 

  • Have a Victorian residential electricity account, and 
  • Be receiving payments under one of the following concession programs: 
  • Centrelink Pensioner Concession 
  • JobSeeker, Youth Allowance, Austudy or Abstudy 
  • Dept of Veterans Affairs Pensioner Concession or hold DVA Gold Card. 

What you need to bring when you apply: 

  1. Your electricity bill, either on paper or electronically. 
  2. Your Concession Card. 
  3. Your bank details (BSB and account number), so the government can pay you via electronic funds transfer.
