Ever admired a friend’s garden and they’ve offered you a cutting however you do not know what to do next or had little success growing it? This workshop will explore the tips and tricks to ensure success. 

All workshops will be held at 11 Hellyer Way at the Community Garden site. Bookings for all activities at the Community Garden are essential.

Come and be part of the Community Garden as Garen Group get together every Tuesday from 9.30—11.30am. Do some gardening, share some tips and enjoy giving some to you. Based at 11 Hellyer Way. Come along to this fun new class where you will learn how to make decorative items from recycled materials such as plastic bottles. Make ‘recycled art’ flowers and pot plant holders. Bring empty clean plastic bottles, all other materials provided.

Boomerang Bags is a community initiative where volunteers make reusable bags from recycled fabric and provide them to the community as a sustainable alternative to plastic bags. Help make bags at the fortnightly sew-ing bees. Tasks include cutting materials, ironing, screen printing and sewing. All ages welcome and no experience required. Free event. No bookings need-ed.

Do it yourself Book Folding. Join us for an introductory session for book folding. In this session you will learn to measure, mark and fold an old book into a work of art that can decorate your home, office or be given as personal handmade gifts. Books supplied.

Course Image Craft Workshops

Learn some basic crafting skills and make a felt brooch or an upcycled T-shirt plant holder. These sessions are hosted by SisterWorks, an organi-sation supporting women who are migrants, refugees or asylum seekers.
